POPPY
RETIRED FROM 4-H
Female English Bull Terrier

Poppy is a tri-color English Bull Terrier. She was purchased from Shadowood Kennels in Flint, Michigan. She was once a mother, having one litter which whelped: Hogan, Ceasar, and Frankie. Originally, her litter was named after Greek/Roman gods/goddesses: Aries, Zeus, Athena, Hermes, and Hera.

Poppy competed in showmanship, obedience (individual and brace) and agility. She was still young when retired, so her obedience skills could have stood some improvement. We all remember when she got stuck in the gating during long downs at the Fair.

As for showmanship, Poppy shined exceptionally wowing the judges with her sleek black coat next to her trainer dressed in black and royal blue. She was also very cute in costume as a member of the Wizard of Oz Lullaby League and dressed as Disney's Frankenweenie.

As for agility, Poppy was soooooo fast it was a downfall. Coming out of the closed chute was the thrill of her life, especially if she could escape from Nic. We all remember the day she escaped and wanted to play with Becky's horses ----- but --- they did NOT want to play with her.

Poppy was retired from 4-H in 2003 and currently lives with a wonderful family in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
