STAGE COMBAT WORKSHOP

On November 19, 2011, several Young Explorers youth and leaders attended a Performing Arts Stage Combat workshop in Lawton. The workshop was sponsored by the Van Buren County 4-H Leaders Association through a local programming grant. The instructor, Kalamazoo College Stage Combat Professor Jon Reeves, condensed his college class for the day to teach stage combat that youth can use in 4-H performances. They learned hand-to-hand, broad sword, dagger, and rapier combat.
